Customs regulations

Import regulations:

Free import:

  • 1 liter of spirits and 2 liters of wine;
  • 200 cigarettes or 50 cigars or 250 grams of tobacco products for passengers above 18 years;
  • goods for personal use;
  • items up to a value of EUR 200.- (or equivalent);
  • food products up to a value of EUR 50.- (or equivalent);
  • medicines for personal use, together with medical certificates and prescription.

Prohibited:

  • items which can be dangerous to the health of population or environment;
  • products containing propaganda of war, racism, race discrimination or genocide and pornography;
  • restricted goods and personal items without permit (cultural values, guns, medicines);
  • agricultural products (except for food items).

Additional Information on regulations:

Firearms: permission required from the Ministry of Interior of Ukraine.

Export regulations:

Free export:

  • goods up to the value of EUR 200.-;
  • goods declared for re-export;
  • visitors: goods purchased in Ukraine in value not exceeding the sum of foreign currency imported.

Additional information:

  • Written declaration required for export of precious metals and stones up to the value of EUR 200.-. Export permit required for higher values.
  • Restrictions apply for export of cultural values.

Prohibited: raw hides, unworked feathers suitable for packing, raw metals, their alloys, waste and scrap, cermets, timber, brassware.

Pets:

Cats, dogs and birds (except pigeons) must be accompanied by a veterinarian health certificate with seal of a state veterinarian institute in country of origin, which must NOT be issued over 10 days prior to arrival.

Prohibited :

  • dogs and cats of less than 3 months of age;
  • pigeons.

Baggage Clearance regulations:

Baggage is cleared at the first airport of entry in Ukraine. Passengers in transit to a domestic destination, carrying goods subject to customs clearance should reclaim their baggage, pass through customs and check-in their baggage for the connecting flight. Passengers who do not carry goods subject to customs clearance can have their baggage through checked to final destination.

Currency

Currency Import regulations:

Local currency (Ukrainian Hryvnia-UAH) and foreign currencies: up to EUR 10,000.- or equivalent. Exceeding amounts must be declared. A document on the withdrawal of cash from banking accounts is required.
Banking metals: max. 500 grams in the shape of ingots and coins with a written declaration for the customs authorities.

Currency Export regulations:

Local currency (Ukrainian Hryvnia-UAH) and foreign currencies: up to EUR 10,000.- or equivalent without declaration. For exceeding amounts, customs declaration and a document on the withdrawal of cash from the financial establishment is required.
Banking metals: max. 500 grams in the shape of ingots and coins with a written declaration for the customs authorities. License required for exceeding weight. The customs declaration is grounds for export of declared currency within 1 year from the registration of the declaration.

Airport Tax

No airport tax is levied on passengers upon embarkation at the airport.
