American Airlines Expands Routes from Chicago O’Hare

American Airlines is set to expand its operations at Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD) this summer, adding new routes and increasing flight frequencies. The expansion includes the only nonstop service from Chicago to Naples, Italy, as well as flights to Honolulu.

With up to 480 daily flights, American will provide 24% more seats and 22% more departures than in 2024. The airline is launching service to eight European destinations, including Naples (NAP), Madrid (MAD), and Halifax (YHZ), alongside three daily flights to London Heathrow (LHR).

New routes from ORD begin on March 30 with flights to Madrid, followed by Naples on May 6 and several U.S. and Canadian destinations in June and October.

Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson praised the expansion, emphasizing its role in strengthening Chicago’s global connectivity and economic growth. American Airlines employs over 9,300 team members in Chicago.
