The Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority (MTPA) announces in a press release issued Tuesday, August 24, 2021 that as from the 1st of September 2021, the sanitary protocols for tourists and other travelers vaccinated against Covid-19 will be allowed to quarantine for only 7 days instead of 14 in their chosen hotel before being free to explore the island.
It is important to note that over 63% of the Mauritian population has received their first dose in which 56% are completely immune; therefore, Mauritius can be considered as a safe country to visit.
On October 1st, vaccinated international travelers will be welcomed without restriction. Visitors who present a negative PCR test carried out within 72 hours of boarding will be able to explore the island in complete freedom upon arrival.
