MSC World America Nears Launch After Successful Sea Trials

MSC World America, a 6,762-guest cruise ship, has completed its sea trials in the Atlantic Ocean and is now in the final preparation stage for its debut in April. The 22-deck vessel underwent extensive testing, including assessments of its engines, maneuverability, fuel efficiency, and safety systems.

Built at Chantiers de l’Atlantique in France, the 216,638-gross-ton ship will be delivered to MSC Cruises on March 27. It will be officially named on April 9 at the MSC Miami Cruise Terminal before beginning Caribbean voyages.

At 1,093 feet long, MSC World America features 2,614 cabins and over 413,334 square feet of public space. Guests can enjoy 18 bars, 19 dining venues, and the world’s only Eataly restaurant at sea.

The ship, MSC Cruises’ third LNG-powered vessel, is equipped with shore power connectivity to reduce emissions in port, an advanced wastewater treatment system, and a recycling management plant, reinforcing its commitment to sustainability.
